My review about The Straits' UK Tour
Powerful performance, rocking spirit, full concert halls, dancing audience!
Back from one of the best trips one can ever dream attending three The Straits' concerts - these in London, Ipswich and Nottingham. Being a huge Dire Straits fan but never seeing them live I was surprised to discover this Band originating, growing and making a big success for such a short time...just a few months. It's really a huge success of what I saw and read (was also at Royal Albert Hall in May and Graz) but not a surprise with so many talented musician on board...Alan Clark, Chris White, Phil Palmer, Terence Reis, Steve Ferrone, Mickey Feat, Jamie Squire. It seems the guys didn't waste their time during summer and compiled a Tour with three new songs and different arrangements of the oldies. Love Jamies' vocal and duet with Terence on Portobello Belle and his guitar and percussion additions. The Communique version by Terence was incredible and also Iron Hand. Was really surprise to see Adam Phillips as not just Phil's replacement but gutar player with his own style who put his great supplement to the songs. And what to say about Terence Reis...I will quote somebody from the audience at Nottingham Royal Concert Hall...you can tell about him "A LOT" - great vocal, excellent player, BIG spirit. So, guys, please, keep rocking - the people love to see you!! It was also not enough for me too!!
Line-up: Alan Clark - piano, keyboards; Chris White - saxophone, flute; Terence Reis - lead guitar, vocal; Jamie Squire - keyboards, percussions, guitar; Mick Feat - bass; Adam Phillips - guitar; Steve Ferrone/Jimmy Copley - drums
